Dr. Stafford began treating patients in the Emergency department of Royal Perth Hospital in Australia after searching on Google for treatments for drug addiction. This led her to a drugs forum where she found information from drug users who had found medications for their addictions. She then tried the same thing with alcoholism and found users’ forums where people discussed their use of baclofen and beat the illness.
